For the past 25 years, the Puerto Rican Family Institute has been providing services to the mentally retarded and developmentally disabled population through the provision of quality community based residential services. PRFI operates three Intermediate Care Facilities and has recently opened an IRA (Individual Residential Alternative) facility with services directed toward providing appropriate assistance and support necessary for the developmentally disabled individual to acquire skills that will enable him/her to live as independently as possible.
